Introduction to Business Continuity Planning

The topic of Business Continuity is potentially wide ranging in scope. The type of business you are in largely drives the types of plans that you should focus upon. In order to provide an introduction to the process we have posted a power point presentation that describes the types of plans we suggest that you develop.

Business Continuity Planning is a process rather than a project. The plans that you develop as part of this process will direct your response to incidents ranging from simple emergencies to full blown disasters. Because the response is far reaching there are several elements that come into play.

The power point that follows discusses the key elements that your plans should include along with providing a discussion on the issues that may drive your process. We have provided detailed information on the actions that you should take on a Pre Incident basis to develop your plan.

The ultimate goal of the process is for you to be better able to respond to incidents that may impact your people, operations and ability to deliver goods and services to the marketplace. Your response is enhanced by planning and documenting the key actions that you will take during crisis situations.

Our presentation ends with a detailed description of the plans that form your response, along with our view of a relatively uniform response process that can be implemented over a wide range of businesses.

Please contact us for more information on the process and to discuss your specific planning needs further.
